Arie Ouimet named Karting Pro of F1 New Jersey at New Jersey Motorsports Park

PLYMOUTH, Mass. – CRG America driver Arie Ouimet has been named F1 New Jersey's Karting Professional at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Ouimet has a wide variety of driving experience, including nine years of racing for CRG America, and will instruct drivers at the Millville, N.J. karting complex beginning this season.

Ouimet has won three national championships while racing karts in both the Middle East and Europe, and became the first American born karter to win a race in the international Rotax competition. Ouimet has also won a Skip Barber Regional Scholarship and competed in selected Skip Barber events.

"For such a young man, Arie possesses the credentials of a driver twice his age," said Brad Scott, general manager of New Jersey Motorsports Park. "Arie has the ability to relate to both young drivers and more experienced karters, and his accomplishments speak volumes about his abilities."

In 2010, Ouimet won the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup scholarship and competed in a full season of racing clean diesels at some of the most challenging race tracks in North America. He also was also selected to compete for the Team USA scholarship which sends two drivers to the U.K. to compete in the renowned Formula Ford Festival.

Dave Davies, of CRG America, said, "I've known Arie even before he started racing for us. I have watched him grow from a young driver to an accomplished driver, and now a driving instructor. We look forward to having Arie work full-time with F1 New Jersey and at the CRG America retail store at the track."

Ouimet will be training drivers on all aspects of kart racing, from beginners to season professionals, including teaching basic karting principles to data acquisition. For more information, visit www.ArieOuimet.com or email Kart_CRG23@yahoo.com.

F1 Year End and Next Season Announcement PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 12 January 2011 07:01

The staff at New Jersey Motorsports Park and F1 Karting would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are so pumped up for the 2011 season. We would like to thank all of you for the awesome 2010 season and we promise that 2011 will be bigger and brighter than ever. F1 Karting will be introducing many new entities that will add to the full experience for both veteran and beginner drivers.

First off—our Championship Karting Series will return with a ten race series beginning in late March. The series will be comprised of races on both the Avenger and Tempest courses. Complementing our local series will be the return of the World Karting Association’s regional event: "New Jersey Sprint Series" with dates in June and September. In addition to the Championship Karting Series and NJSS, "The Northeast Rotax Series" will visit F1 New Jersey for two out of the six races in their series. Oakland Valley Raceway and F1 Boston will also host this series throughout the season with races beginning the weekend of May 21st and ending with a championship race the weekend of October 22nd. All karters who race in our Championship Karting Series, both members and non-members alike, will be able to celebrate their accomplishments and new found friendships at the end of the season with the Championship Awards Banquet. The tentative schedule for F1 New Jersey’s competition karting programs has been announced and updates will continue to be made on njkarting.org. Be sure to look for special announcements regarding sponsorships, incentives, and membership information.

F1 New Jersey will be adding a totally new element to its repertoire with the additional of our Oval Racing Program. Oval drivers will compete on F1's quarter mile Tri-Oval in a 12 race series. To kick off the oval racing season, we will host a money race on the 16th of April. We encourage all karters to come and check out these oval racers; they have been known to be some of the most insane competitors in the sport. If you are interested in Oval racing, stay tuned to njkarting.org. Additional information is also available on 4cycle.com.

For those parents who have been anticipating a racing experience for their 5-8 year olds, the time is now! Pee Wee Racing Stars is a competition karting program that introduces totally new drivers to the fundamentals of racing through a 4-hour classroom and on-track driving development camp. Karts are provided by the facility as well as qualified driving instructors. Small class sizes (between 3 and 5 children) and personal instruction will be beneficial to both kids and parents alike. Once youth drivers complete the introductory program, they will be able to participate in youth racing session during the week and the possible chance to race in our Championship Karting Series.

The return of SSC East to New Jersey Motorsports Park will also be welcomed in the 2011 season. The Pro-Shop, located next to the F1 garage, will be headed up by Jenni Paape as always and will be stocking all of your race day needs. Hardware, including nuts and bolts, will be a new addition to the NJ SSC East inventory. Not only is the Pro-Shop an asset to drivers at F1NJ; we will also be hosting one of the sports' most talented drivers, Arie Ouimet, as our resident driving professional. Ouimet will be available for private coaching, schools, consultations, and professional chassis tuning. His driving experience boasts two U.S. national championships: 2008 Rotax National Championship where he represented the United States in the World Finals held in Egypt combined with a 2010 national championship title in KF3 in the Championship Karting International race series. We are very thankful and proud to have Arie as an addition to the F1NJ family.

Once again, we at F1NJ would like to thank the competitors and the supporters of our 2010 season. We truly appreciate all that you have done for us, for each other, and for karting as a sport. The 2011 season will prove to be just as amazing for all of us. Thank you all and we look forward to seeing you in the spring!

New Jersey Motorsports Park’s Premier Karting Facility begins preparation for WSK World Championships

The staff of F1 New Jersey is proud to announce the beginnings of preparations and track modifications for the July World Series Karting event. The track modifications will not only benefit the upcoming international event, but it will improve the track greatly for all future events. The steps being made within the next fews weeks will improve track conditions, cut down on kart maintenance, and provide even more configurations. The current F1 New Jersey Tempest track is 1.03 miles and has 21 turns. With the new modifications, none of these turns will be entirely removed. The track is being added to on both the Avenger and Liberator sides, leaving the current configurations available for use whenever necessary.

For those familiar with the current track, the chicane on the Avenger side (Turn 7 & 8) will become part of the back straight. This will allow for significant passing opportunities leading into the infamous "Boston Massacre" where the elevation changes and tight right hand turn will slow competitors down. The fast speeds will come with the improvements being made after this section; modifications will be made to the first series of chicanes on the Liberator side of the track (Turn 15 & 16). This will allow for increased speeds as well as more passing opportunities leading into the hard 90 degree left hander that is being created. Turns 17 & 18, the uphill chicane on the Liberator side, will be transformed into a straight uphill run to allow for side-by-side driving coming onto the front straight approaching the new start/finish line.

Modifications began Thursday, May 6th, 2010. F1 New Jersey staff has been hard at work with painting curbs and creating marshall stands. Marshall stands are compiled of a series of tires bolted together surrounding a podium for the flaggers to stand on. This will provide flaggers with additional safety. These stands will be portable so that once they are placed for the WSK event, they can be repositioned for any other club or regional event that F1 New Jersey will hold. The traditional curbing is being revamped with both red and white paint to create for amazing turn identification.

As of Monday May 10th, 2010, the new sections of the track have been dug and prepared for asphalting. Curbing has been painted on the Avenger side of the track and two marshall stands have been fully formed and the remaining eight stands have been prepared for assembly. The upcoming Championship Karting Series Race will take place on the Avenger configuration. The May 16th race will not include any of the new modified turns.
