F1 New Jersey opened the gates for the 2010 season on Saturday, March 20th. Along with the strong turnout of customers for F1’s rental program, a number of competition drivers came out to enjoy the beautiful weather and the beautiful track. New members to F1NJ’s Championship Karting Series got their first chance to experience the Avenger course in 2010. This practice track is a fast configuration with an infamous first turn counted among the other 9 turns on this 0.48 mile track.
Opening weekend proved beneficial for both new karting members and those that have become familiar faces to F1. Seasoned drivers had the opportunity to meet new competitors and new staff. This allowed everyone to get the feel for the new programs. Also, drivers new to karting or to F1 New Jersey as a facility were able to discuss numerous subjects and get some of their questions answered. Advice on motor work, parts dealers, and gear settings were readily available for drivers from both karting director, Scott Paape, and seasoned karting veterans.
Although drivers got a taste of F1NJ on Saturday and Sunday, the real experience will come with this weekend’s first Club Race of the 2010 season. Race day will kick off at 7:45 am when Registration opens. Karting members will begin to see the benefit of their memberships with discounted rates and the beginning of their points race towards end of the season awards. However, non-members will also benefit at F1 New Jersey Club Races because they will be able to receive awards following each race of the 2010 season.
F1 New Jersey staff and management are truly looking forward to kicking off this race season. If there are any questions about memberships, schedules, or programs provided by F1 New Jersey, please contact Scott Paape, Director of Karting, at (856) 264-5249.
